Video processing, editing, and export run locally on your machine — the AI models are bundled with the app. An internet connection is only needed for sign-in, license validation, and optional online features like ChatGPT integration.
A modern CPU with at least 8 cores is recommended. GPU acceleration is optional but significantly speeds up processing. NVIDIA (CUDA), Apple Silicon (Metal), and AMD (ROCm) are all supported.
ReelsCut supports all major formats: MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM, and more. If FFmpeg can read it, ReelsCut can process it.
The detection model analyzes multiple signals simultaneously: speech energy, emotional peaks in audio, visual motion intensity, and scene composition. The result is a ranked list of clips sorted by potential engagement.
Your video footage stays on your device and is processed locally — it's never uploaded for processing. Optional features like ChatGPT integration send only the text you choose (e.g. transcripts) to OpenAI. An account is required to sign in and validate your license.
After the trial, a subscription is required to continue using ReelsCut. Your projects and settings are preserved — nothing is deleted.
